Water Treatment

Water Treatment

The water from different water sources (the Sea of Galilee, groundwater, seawater, brackish water and springs) has different chemical compositions. These differences derive from geological reasons, the type of water source and the level of salinity. There is also a difference in the microbiological quality, due to differences in the type of source and consequently in the level of exposure to contamination.

Nowadays, all kinds of water are treated for the purpose of drinking. The most common treatment is the disinfection of water, which conform the National Health Regulations. Another common treatment is the filtration of surface water, such as the water of the Sea of Galilee and spring water.

Filtration removes suspended solids, such as clay and biological elements. In this way, the company covers reservoirs of drinking water with special floating sheets. These covers preserve the quality of the water and prevent the penetration of sunlight. In this way, the possibility of algae development is prevented, as well as water loss as a result of evaporation due to sunlight.
