Connecting the Hadera Desalination Facility to the National System

Connecting the desalination facility in Hadera to the national water system was the first stage in “Mekorot’s” the flagship project – “The New National Carrier”.
Connecting the facility to the national system involved laying lines 80 inches in diameter, creating a 90 thousand cubic meters reservoir with a floating cover, pumping stations and monitoring systems.
As part of the connection of the desalination facility in Hadera to the “New National Carrier”, “Mekorot” overcame topographic, infrastructure and technological challenges, and has successfully created a model implemented in the connection of additional desalination facilities.

The Hadera desalination facility provides 127 million cubic meters of desalinated water per annum.
