About WaTech™ Ventures Center
In the face of changing climate and rapidly depleting water resources worldwide, Israel has become a world leader in developing innovative water technologies and infrastructure. WaTech™, Mekorot’s Ventures Center, was set up in order to promote new water technologies.
WaTech™ – The Center for Technological Innovation and Co-operation assists new companies and organizations operating in the field of water technology to promote and advance their work in a number of ways:
- Beta testing facilities: Mekorot's technologically advanced infrastructure allows the input of diverse geographical data and provides perfect conditions for experiments in the field of CleanTech. For example, a Beta Simulator that simulates different climates from around the world.
- Planning co-operation: Mekorot's teams of experts have up-to-date knowledge and experience in all aspects of water resource management and water technologies. This makes it possible for them to aid developers in initial research programs as well as product development and overall management of product specifications.
- Technical support and analysis: Watech's™ partners receive support and guidance from Mekorot's teams of experts, which includes access to the company's laboratories.
- Joint marketing initiatives: Watech™ Ventures Center joins forces with start-up companies in a joint initiative to break into international markets and gain access to international backers and strategic partners.
In return for the help and assistance that Watech™ gives start-up companies, Mekorot gets reductions on the costs of technologies and products produced and marketed by their partners as well as royalties, referral commissions and options.
