PML has developed technology and system that are based upon a unique structured, "dark" laser beam, interacting with the particles. The technology enables automatic and continuous monitoring of particle sizes (including sub-micron particles) and concentrations, in water before and after filtration.
The system also differentiates between particles categories, such as clay, carbon, algae, germs, parasites and viruses. PML and Mekorot have been cooperating to develop and complete a β site at one of the Mekorot facilities, as a first step towards commercialization of the system.

Rotec Ltd. is a developer of innovative technologies to improve RO/NF membrane desalination efficiency. The increased efficiency is achieved by periodic flow reversal in the feed side of the membrane module train, which is accomplished by switching the connection points of the feed and concentrate lines. Based on proprietary know-how using a special sensor that is being developed in cooperation with leading universities in Israel and the U.S., the periodic reversal is carried out before significant scaling occurs as monitored in-situ by the special sensor. This prevents unnecessary flow switches but protects the membrane from possible changes in feed and operating conditions. The system is currently undergoing beta testing at Mekorot’s facilities.
